A cancer diagnosis is a life changing situation for most
people. Suddenly you have to make an overwhelming number of decisions with
unfamiliar terminology at a time when fear and emotion is at its peak.
Often cancer patients don’t have the benefit of a medical background to
make informed decisions and choices. The ICCT foundation is devoted to
guiding people through the myriad of decisions surrounding a cancer
diagnosis.
ICCT will be a non-profit resource centre to inform cancer patients about
many types of medical treatments and therapies that are valid choices for
cancer treatment and have been used successfully for many decades in other
countries around the world. A real need for easy access to this type of
information is becoming very apparent.
The costs of treatment can be staggering, and financial support tends to
be difficult to access quickly or easily at a time when it is needed most.
ICCT will, initially, provide information on financial help available to
cancer patients and, ultimately, will provide financial assistance to
patients who need it.
It will also be a support system for the caregiver in addressing their
needs in the journey through cancer.
