Jeff Gawron, was a doctor of natural integrated medicine,
loved to talk, had amazingly accurate accents and an incredibly
beautiful singing voice. Jeff was a natural storyteller and loved giving
inspiring speeches at his Toastmasters Club, and loved to eat!
All these things Jeff loved to do the most were put on
hiatus. A small cut on his tongue, believed to be an infection, was
diagnosed on December 29, 2004 as an advanced form of aggressive tongue
cancer. As someone who has never smoked or chewed tobacco the diagnosis
was highly inexplicable.
Jeff chose to seek out alternatives to the conventional chemotherapy and
radiation treatments and received treatments that were very successful in
regenerating his health. He made remarkable progress
towards recovery considering what he had gone through. At least three
doctors had given him a bill of clean health, but in June of 2005 Jeff
experienced an allergic reaction and went into hospital with the
strongest of hopes. A secondary infection returned and was
followed by the aggressive cancer, which was at too late of a stage to
be treated any further. On August 13, 2005 Jeff passed peacefully
with all the surrounding love of his family and friends.
Please don’t feel sorry for Jeff though, because he viewed the cancer as a
gift ……. a gift that gave him clarity and a new purpose in life. The
experience has inspired him to create a resource foundation called
Integrative Choices for Cancer Treatment, to make it easier for other
cancer patients to get the information they need, quickly and easily, to
make the treatment choice that is right for them. He also started writing a
book about his experience hoping to educate people that they do have a
choice in cancer treatment.
The love of Jeff's life, Terri plans to finish his book and continue his
dream.
Jeff always had such a strong belief in others and himself and it is
this conviction that will allow the Integrative Choices for Cancer
Treatment foundation be such a success to help others. |
